newborn shoots

Although creating fabulous treasured images is the aim, the priority by far is the comfort and safety of your baby, and that will dictate the entire session. I have been trained specifically in the safe handling and posing of newborn babies which is of course vital and we go at baby's pace to ensure they are totally relaxed.

For this reason, newborn sessions take up to 3 or 4 hours to allow for as much feeding and settling as your baby needs.

I bring everything I need with me to come to you and do the session in your home. Your setting is familiar and the session will be relaxed which all helps your baby to be settled.

Booking

I recommend reserving your newborn photography session as soon as possible after your 20 week scan. This gives us plenty of time to plan and prepare for the session. More often than you think mums get caught out by an early arrival!

I take a booking deposit of £75 to secure your session and this is credited against your final fee amount.

When your deposit is received I send you my guide for getting the best from your shoot and what to expect. I will take you through everything you need to know and answer any questions you have.

I will pencil in a bracket around your due date, then just give me a call when baby's here to confirm your session.

Ideally your baby will be between 5 - 12 days old for the smallest, curled up poses when they are at their most content and sleepy.

Many photographers say that newborn photography isn't possible after your baby reaches 2 weeks old, but I disagree. There can be many reasons why it might not be possible to have your session in that time; it doesn't mean you miss out. Although the curled up poses are less likely, we can still get beautiful photographs of your new baby up to around 6 weeks old.
