FAQs

I’m not photogenic / I hate having my photo taken

I fully understand the insecurity you may be feeling, I am more than a little ‘sensitive’ about being on the other side of the camera! That’s why I have spent a great deal of time perfecting the way I work to put you and your family at ease. I have learned to make small but vital adjustments that will flatter you and show you at your best in photographs. It will feel easy and look great. It’s why my clients come back to me time and again.

My kids won’t smile / behave for the camera

So many people say this to me! Sometimes I get lucky, but there are things I do and that I guide you on in preparation for our session that time and again have lead to successful images. You can trust me with this.

Where will my photo shoot take place?

This one is up to you, and will depend upon the sort of images you would like. With little ones under 6 months I recommend that we have the shoot in your home. The familiarity will be a comfort to them and shelters them from the elements. I am very happy to discuss location with you and I have plenty of ideas, let’s chat.

What if it rains?

Well, lets be honest, it may rain. In fact, it probably will! But believe it or not, it is rarely so bad that we can’t have a great session. Actually, a bit of cloud cover is perfect for photographing and flattering you beautifully. If the weather is truly against us we can of course reschedule at no extra cost.

What if my little one is ill?

We’ll reschedule, for the success of your shoot and the health of me, my family and my other clients. A grouchy child will not enjoy the time and I am aiming for the session to be fun to get the images we want. I will gladly rebook your shoot to a new date without charge - I would simply be grateful for as much notice as possible.

Can you do this particular newborn pose?

The poses are entirely lead by your baby - if they are not comfortable we don’t do it. I am more than happy to try for particular images you like but I never force or persist with a pose that your baby is not comfortable in.

When should I book my newborn session?

As soon after your 20 week scan as possible. This may sounds way too soon but it will give us time to chat through how it works and it’s one less job on your list. I often hear “great, I’ll be in touch when baby comes” by mums to be who really mean it - but when baby comes you’ll switch to fabulous new life survival mode and finding the brain space and energy to organise a photography session is pretty unlikely. And it probably won’t matter to you at the time. But the newborn days are fleeting and you’ll only get one chance to capture it, so lets sort yours now! Take a look at my newborn page for more information.

How do I book?

Great! I am so excited to work with you. Contact me to arrange your session.
